Damaged Aircraft Wing Panel

A local aviation maintenance and repair firm had a plane in their hanger with a damaged wing. Because it was an older commercial jet, there were no ready made replacements available. They were able to secure a replacement from a donor jet but there was no easy way for them to determine if the rivet locations were exactly the same on both panels. We were hired to scan both the damaged panel and the replacement so as to determine digitally if the two were identical. After scanning both panels, we were able to overlay the replacement with the original for comparison. With this data, they were able to determine the two were not perfectly identical. This ended up saving them several thousand dollars.
