Elevator Motor Assembly #1

A new client needed solid models of a few elevator motor assemblies to use in their CAD software. The challenge was two-fold. First, these were in use, second, because of their location at the top of an elevator shaft, access to scan them was very limited. After getting on top of the elevator car, the elevator tech brought it up as far as possible. It required climbing up onto the dusty beams to capture as much as possible. Here, you can see in the first model, the actual data that was able to be captured due to the inability to scan from all possible angles. In the second, you can see the work we did to rebuild the assembly and convert it to a solid model for use in CAD. It was a great deal of work and the client was very happy with the results.
