Shopping Center, 1210 MO 72, Rolla

We were hired to scan the shopping center at 1210 Hwy 72 in Rolla, MO. The contractors needed the dimensions of the building, including the facade and parapet, with which to design it’s replacement. Using the Artec Ray II TLS lidar laser 3D scanner, we scanned the entire building in a matter of hours. The data was merged and edited to create the final result above. There were several obstacles which had to be removed such as benches, trash cans, dumpsters, cars and others that posed challenges. using a 30′ tall mast/tripod system, we were able to get the scanner high enough to deal with these issues. The end result is a highly detailed 3D model of this existing structure. The model you see here has had the resolution reduced substantially so as to meet the 200mb upload limit.
