Hassle Free Pricing For Small Object 3D Scanning

That’s right, no gimmicks, no games. A simple pricing structure so you always know what to expect. In order to make it easy, we have only three categories for small object 3D scanning. Simple, Intermediate and Complex. Each one of the categories represent the amount of work necessary to create your model. The geometry of the object is the biggest factor in this industry. Obviously, the more faces, facets, holes, hidden features, the more work involved to accurately capture the data from which to create the 3D model.

First, for the 3D scanning of small objects, the maximum size under our hassle free pricing program is 100 x 100 x 75mm. It’s not that we can can’t scan something slightly larger with our metrology grade scanner, we certainly can. It just requires more work to create the model and therefore requires going through our normal quoting process.

Simple Small Item 3D Scan

For an object to be considered “small”, the object must have non-complex geometry. What does this mean? The object must be of a relatively simple shape without any hidden features, tiny or deep holes and all of the surfaces are easily visible to the naked eye. If it can be seen, it can be 3D scanned. Very little touch up is required.

Intermediate Small Object 3D Scan

This category pertains to items which are a little more complicated to scan. This can include slightly deeper holes, somewhat hidden features, and more complicated geometry. After scanning, it will most likely require post scanning work to fill holes, fix minor blemishes and/or rebuild minor features.

Complex Small Object 3D Scan

Complex basically speaks for itself. Items in this category are difficult to scan and require a substantial amount of effort to scan and a great deal of work to clean up after creating the 3D model. Whether due to deep cavities, complex shapes, etc., there is a lot of manual post processing effort needed to clean and edit the 3d model once the scanning is complete.
