Antique Shutter Decoration, Hinge Accent

A local client had these on their shutters for the last 30-40 years. They had become very brittle and had begun breaking apart due to their age. They have not been produced in decades. They brough in the one they had which was in three pieces. After affixing the pieces and doing some touch up where they had previously been glued, the hinge accent was scanned with the Artec Eva in HD. After which the resulting 3D model was used as a template in SolidWorks to recreate the shape. The drawing was exported to an .stl file and printed on the Raise 3D E2 printer. As you can see, the result is an almost perfect match.
