Quasi The Sea Turtle

When the staff of the Aquarium at St Louis Union Station needed a highly accurate model of one of their two sea turtles, 3D Scan STL was their first choice. Quasi, the sea turtle, has a condition whereby she swims nose down. With the scan data, they were able to have a special prosthetic created that perfectly conforms to her shell. This device then has weights attached to level Quasi’s buoyancy. Thanks to the magic of technology, Quasi is able to swim just like her mate.
